MEDAL DESIGN CONTEST

We need your help!  We want to provide a special award to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place male and female finishers at the Autism 5k Run & Walk.  You don't have to be a graphic artist to submit a design.  Last year's medal was hand drawn on a piece of paper by a 10 year old with autism.

Contest Period
The contest will run from April 12-30, 2018.  No designs may be submitted after 11:59 PM Eastern Standard Time on April 30, 2018.  You may submit up to 3 designs at any point during that time.

Who Can Enter
Everyone is encouraged to participate – all ages including those with or without an Autism Spectrum Disorder.  Up to 3 entries may be submitted per person; however, no purchase is necessary to enter and multiple entries will not influence the chance of winning. 

Guidelines for Design
The artwork must be original and submitted in printed form if sending via mail or as a JPEG, PNG, or PDF file if sending via email.  A photo from your phone in an email is fine too.  If your design is the winner, we will also need the original artwork.  Be sure to sign your artwork in some way so you receive credit for your work.

Specifications
Last year’s medal was crafted from a hand drawn picture done by a 10 year old boy with autism.  The design can be hand drawn on an 8-1/2”x11” piece of paper or using graphic design software.

Theme is Autism
Your medal should reflect your journey with autism, describe what autism means to you or communicate a message of acceptance of autism.

Entries may not include:  (a) profanity, nudity or material deemed inappropriate or offensive (to be determined at the discretion of the Autism Society of Greater Akron); (b) obscene, violent, sexually explicit, discriminatory, racially inflammatory or other morally or legally objectionable material.  Entrants who fail to adhere to these guidelines will be disqualified.

How to Enter

Designs and form can be sent via email to info@autismakron.org or you can mail/drop off your entry at Autism Society of Greater Akron offices located at 703 S. Main Street, Akron OH 44311.

The Prize
FREE registration for you and 3 guests to the Autism 5k Run and Walk
VIP Recognition at the Autism 5k Run and Walk
Design displayed on 150 medals for the event along with artist bio and photo

How the Winner Will Be Chosen & Notified
The winner will be chosen by the Autism Society of Greater Akron Board of Directors.  The winner will be notified via phone, email and/or Facebook in early May.
